Outreach Ambassadors

Learn more about our Outreach Ambassadors Programme for undergraduates studying chemistry and related-sciences across the UK.

Salters’ Outreach Ambassadors are current undergraduate students studying chemistry or related-sciences across the United Kingdom. They are representatives of the Salters’ Institute, are paid London Living Wage, and contribute to our educational activities and wider outreach work.

This is a great opportunity to gain work experience in outreach development and delivery, and to add useful skills to your CV.

Outreach Ambassadors want to inspire the next generation of chemists, are enthusiastic about sharing their passion for chemistry, and are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion, striving to make chemistry accessible for all.

What do Outreach Ambassadors do?

Salters’ Ambassadors have many opportunities to get involved in the Salters’ Institute’s outreach initiatives, including:

  • Supporting the delivery of a diverse range of events in Public Programmes for Early Years, primary and secondary school students, families and adults
  • Creating online content and activities for Chemistry Club
  • Supporting the Festivals of Chemistry Discovery Days

Outreach Ambassadors support our in-person events at Salters’ Hall, such as our Wild City Launch Day with Year 5 students. In recognition of their contribution, Outreach Ambassadors are also invited to join our Alumni Programme.
