Salters’ National Awards for Science Technicians 2020 – Applications open!

APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN!

These Awards are run by the Salters’ Institute in collaboration with both CLEAPSS and SSERC.

The aim of the Awards is to highlight the important role played by school and college technician teams* in enabling high quality and effective practical work in science. The current focus is on supporting the professional learning and upskilling of technicians and, for 2020, the Awards will be made in the form of 3-year grants. *Don’t worry if you’re the sole technician in a school or college – you’re still eligible!

The awards are to be given as team awards (sole technicians are still eligible!) to Science Technicians in schools and colleges catering for students up to the age of 18 across the UK. A team could be working within or across the sciences.

Please note all those who have applied before for a Technicians Award are very welcome to apply again.

NEW this year, the Awards will be made as follows:

  • Up to 4 grants. Each grant is £600 per year, for 3 years

We hope that the Awards will continue to heighten the awareness of the importance of Science Technicians to education in this country.
